San Jose Gastroenterology is pleased to welcome Dr. Alexis Bayudan to our expanding team. Dr. Bayudan, a highly skilled gastrointestinal specialist, will begin seeing patients in September 2024.
Dr. Bayudan has had a remarkable journey in medicine, deeply rooted in her academic achievements and specialized training. She began her educational path at the University of California, Berkeley, where she studied Molecular and Cellular Biology. Her passion for medicine then brought her back home to South Florida, where she attended the Florida Atlantic University, Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine, graduating with honors and being inducted into the AOA Medical Honor Society.
Following medical school, Dr. Bayudan pursued her Internal Medicine residency at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, where she dedicated herself to honing her clinical skills and fostering a commitment to exceptional patient care. Her fascination with gastrointestinal health prompted her to specialize in Gastroenterology, completing her fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco. During this time, she contributed to several peer-reviewed journals and presented her research at multiple national conferences.
Dr. Bayudan furthered her expertise in Gastroenterology by completing an additional year of Advanced Endoscopy training at UCSF. During that time, she refined her skills in procedures such as Endoscopic Retrograde Pancreatography (ERCP), diagnostic and therapeutic Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS), complex Endoscopic Mucosal Resections (EMR), endoscopic suturing, and luminal stent placements. Dr. Bayudan is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. Her comprehensive approach and advanced procedural skills underscore her dedication to patient care.
Outside of her professional pursuits, Dr. Bayudan has made the Bay Area her home, where she enjoys quality time with her family and friends, and playing with her cat named Blue. Her interests include playing golf, staying active, exploring new travel destinations, and enjoying leisurely pastimes.
We at San Jose Gastroenterology are excited about the positive impact Dr. Bayudan will bring to our patients and the community.
